The Story Behind This Platform

Dermatology, decoded — and made accessible.

AskToDermatologist was founded by a board-certified dermatology specialist practicing in the European Union, with one goal: to make evidence-based dermatology accessible to anyone, anywhere — without the wait, the cost, or the guesswork.
Millions of people make daily skincare decisions based on TikTok trends, Reddit threads, and product reviews — sources that are often well-meaning but rarely accurate. Meanwhile, scheduling a dermatology appointment can take weeks, cost hundreds of dollars, and feel intimidating for what may be a simple question.
We built this platform to bridge that gap.

Why We Operate Anonymously

The science matters more than the byline.

Our founder maintains an active dermatology practice and has chosen to keep their identity separate from this platform. This is intentional.
The information we provide should stand on its own merit — grounded in clinical guidelines from the American Academy of Dermatology, the European Academy of Dermatology, and peer-reviewed medical literature. The science either works or it doesn’t, regardless of whose name is on the byline.
What matters is that the information is correct, current, and clinically reviewed by someone who practices dermatology every day.

🔬 Evidence-Based Selection

Every recommendation is grounded in peer-reviewed dermatology research, not trends or brand partnerships.

🚫 Myth-Busting Filter

We cross-check popular skincare claims against clinical evidence and flag what doesn’t hold up.

📊 Analytical Framework

We assess skin through three lenses: barrier function, oxidative stress, and inflammation markers.

Our Editorial Policy

All content on AskToDermatologist is reviewed against peer-reviewed sources including PubMed, JAAD (Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology), and AAD clinical guidelines. We do not accept sponsored content that influences our recommendations.
